Information for First-year students

On behalf of the entire student body, the Students Council of Environmental Sciences of the University of Koblenz-Landau welcomes you to Landau! With these pages you will find a small encyclopedia about studying and living in Landau. Furthermore, we would like to refer you to our UWI Ersti-Heft (status 2015/16, the AStA version is a little bit more up to date).

Very important:

Visit the digital orientation-fair of the AStA and the university! There you will find a lot of useful information about studying, the university and your fellow students. On the homepage of the institute you can find additional information about UWI and other courses of study of faculty 7.

Where can I find official information, documents and forms for the study program?

You can find them in the corresponding OLAT course “Master Environmental Sciences / Umweltwissenschaften” or “BA Umweltwissenschaften”. The password is usually mentioned at the introductory course. Afterwards you can ask your fellow students for it or ask us or the student advisory service by mail.

To help you settle in, we have provided you with timetables of the respective courses of study for the recommended standard period of study. You can always find a exemplary curriculum at the last page of your list of modules. A guide to the functions of KLIPS can be found here.

The suggestions on Klips such as “My Curricula Timetable” or “Curricula Timetable (List)” are NOT 100% correct. Stick to our guide and especially the module manual.

Some blocks (marked in red) overlap, because some lecturers offer several dates for the same event, or staggered groups are displayed here in parallel instead of one after the other. Don’t be confused by this, usually all dates are coordinated so that you can take the pattern on the last page of the module handbook for each semester. You will be informed about tutorials and other side events, if you don’t find them under the names like here, wait and ask your lecturer. If it doesn’t fit, first contact your lecturer and ask for a solution!
Looks empty… but with the further basic subject and optional subject you will have enough lectures. The same instructions apply here as for the B.Sc. Env.
